Content Creation for Holistic Therapists: You Don't Need to Be Creative
How many times have you opened Canva, stared at a blank screen and thought ’I’m just not creative enough for this?’ If this thought always stops you from staying consistent with your content, just remember that you don’t need to be really creative to create content that works for you.
I work with holistic therapists, and wellbeing practitioners who care deeply about their clients and want to show up with integrity. However, the pressure to be creative, polished, and constantly visible online, can feel overwhelming. It may even become the very thing that stops them from showing up at all.
For me, effective content doesn’t come from creativity alone. It also comes from clarity, consistency, and having the right support.
Clarity Over Creativity
Being clear about who you help, how you help them, and what you want to say matters a lot more than a complicated design. Your knowledge, experience, and care for your clients are far more important than how creative your designs look.
Your audience isn’t looking for perfection. For them, reassurance, connection and a sense of understanding them, is far more important. When your content feels consistent and intentional, it becomes easier for them to engage and trust you.
Consistency Builds Trust
Content works best when it feels familiar. Simple design builds trust. A consistent layout helps your audience feel safe. Clear messaging allows your words to truly reflect you. It’s also ok to repeat yourself. Your audience may need to hear your message multiple times before they take notice. A simple and recognisable style will make your content easier to create and for it to be heard.
Canva Is Here to Support You
Remember that Canva is not a test of your skills, but is there as a support tool designed to make things easier. The templates that are such an integral part of the platform are there to take the pressure off you. Repurposing a design layout, sticking to a small set of fonts and colours will keep things simple, helping you to create a system that supports you. It just means that you don’t need to overcomplicate your designs by starting from scratch every time, or by using every feature that Canva has. Your confidence will grow from having a simple way to create your brand designs that will help you show up consistently online, without feeling too overwhelmed.
Keep It Simple
In conclusion, allow yourself to create content at a pace that suits you, your wellbeing business, and your life.
Remember that it’s ok to repeat yourself and to keep things simple. This will help you take the pressure away. When you let go of comparing yourself and that fear of perfection all the time, you will find that content creation will become a lot easier. You can focus on sharing what really matters, rather than worrying too much about how your designs look.
Using the right Canva tools, and having the support and guidance to create with calm will mean that you can channel your energy into supporting your clients, which is what you are most passionate about.
